Rhodes Airport with the code RHO is made up of a small terminal with some stores including duty free and a selection of restaurants in both the airside and landside. Being mainly a seasonal airport, Rhodes Airport terminal tends to be frenzied sometimes with long and inept security clearance and check-in processes. There is available free WiFi to help you pass the time. If you are willing to pay, you can also find some comfort thanks to the fee-based access to one of the first class lounges in the airport.
You wouldn’t have a hard time sleeping in Rhodes Airport although seating is composed of hard metal benches known for getting mixed reviews regarding the comfort they offer. This is why it would be advisable to bring a travel blanket, travel mat, and pillow in case you have plans to spend the night at the airport.
You might also consider bringing an insect repellent and eyeshades to save yourself from mosquitoes and bright lights to ensure that your sleep will be more comfortable. But, if you are really craving an uninterrupted sleep, you can always check in at one of the nearby hotels or apartments. You can easily find them in Paradisi, Kremasti or a bit further in Pastida.
For the rest of this guide, locations will be referred to as airside and landside. Landside pertains to the terminal’s public area that can be found in the non-secure zone prior to the security. Meanwhile, airside refers to the terminal’s secure area that you will be able to reach if you go through security.
