The Greek islands of Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes have topped the list of ”Google’s Top Travel Searches for 2023”. Google annually releases a report titled “Year in Search,” showcasing the searches users made in the past 12 months. These islands in the Southern Aegean emerged as the most sought-after places among Google users. Rhodes secured the first spot in the searches for city and island destinations, while Greece claimed the top position in country searches, with Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes significantly contributing to this achievement.
According to a feature in Conde Nast Traveler focusing on Rhodes, the island stands out despite the forest fires it faced during the summer. Travelers’ interest in supporting Rhodes is seen as evidence that the island’s beauty prevailed. As a result, by the end of 2023, Rhodes surpassed cities such as Orlando in the USA, Seville, Marrakech, Sicily, Delhi, Amsterdam, and others in the list of popular destinations.
