That water is used from the local farmers until today.

Also, there are many little churches dating back centuries, the most known one the church of Saint George Vardas.
Apollakia village is known for its watermelon festival, the Santa Marina traditional festival and the production of watermelon and potatoes. It has become even more known since the opening of the Rhodescape Park at the shores of the lake in 2018.
